I’m not sure if this is an appropriate forum for my question..but here goes:
I’ve been using Adobe Acrobat for a number of years. Those of you who are familiar with it know that you can use a desktop printer called “Create Adobe PDF” to create PDF documents from any application.
My Mac had a serious crash, and I had to reinstall everything. But now I can’t see any way of getting a “Create Adobe PDF” desktop printer to appear. The “Help” file indicates that I need to begin by opening up Distiller. However, any time I try to do that, moments after it begins to open, I get a failure dialog stating that “A fatal PostScript error has left the interpreter in an intermediate state.”
This happened to me once before several years ago, and I (somehow) resolved it. However, for the life of me, I can’t recall what I did.
Can anyone help?

  1. Download the zip file and copy it to any folder on your computer.
  2. Extract the zip file.
  3. Navigate to the Setup.exe file.
    For example if you have copied and extracted the zip file to Adobe folder on your desktop, the folder hierarchy will be: C:Users<user name>DesktopAcrobat_2020_Web_WWMUIAdobe Acrobat/Setup.exe
  4. To start the installation, double-click the Setup.exe file.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
Note: Do not run the Setup.exe file from within the installer zip file as you might encounter errors during installation.
  1. Double-click the downloaded DMG file to mount Acrobat installer volume.
  2. Open the mounted Acrobat installer volume.
  3. Navigate to Acrobat DC installer.pkg in the volume and run it.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
